It is said that a pair of gods and goddesses from heaven were punished to come down to earth because of a mistake. The god became a dog named Tumang, while the goddess became a debt pig named Wayungyang. Wayungyang drank the urine of King Sungging Perbangkara who was hunting in the forest. Miraculously, Wayungyang gave birth to a beautiful baby. The king's baby was then brought to the palace and named Dayang Sumbi. Many kings and princes wanted to propose to Dayang Sumbi, but she refused. At his request, he was exiled to the hills accompanied by a dog named Tumang. One time, the piston used by Dayang Sumbi fell down. He is lazy and lends whoever takes the piston, if the man will be made a husband and the woman will be made a sister. The piston was taken by Tumang. Dayang Sumbi kept her promise and they got married. From the marriage of Dayang Sumbi and Si Tumang, a son named Sangkuriang was born. Sangkuriang slaughtered the Tumang while hunting in the forest because he couldn't get the deer's heart that Dayang Sumbi ordered. Dayang Sumbi was angry and hit Sangkuriang's head with a rice ladle. Sangkuriang went to study and wandered around the world until he finally returned to Dayang Sumbi's place. They don't know each other and are in love. However, Dayang Sumbi did not realize that Sangkuriang was her son after seeing the scars on his head. Dayang Sumbi refused with Sangkuriang but Sangkuriang still wanted to marry her. Dayang Sumbi made a strategy, built a boat and a lake in one night. Sangkuriang, assisted by creatures, almost finished building a boat and dammed Citarum overnight. Dayang Sumbi panicked, pleaded with Sang Hyang Tunggal then spread a white cloth in the east. The white cloth emitted light like the rays of dawn. He also beats the mortar with the same smoothness as someone pounding rice. The spirits ran away in fear because they thought it was morning. Sangkuriang was angry, then the boat that was almost finished was kicked and later became Mount Tangkuban Parahu. The tree stump that was made by the boat became Bukit stumps, nagging it to become Mount Burangrang. The lake basin is the location of the city of Bandung, the through hole for Citarum Smooth Sanghyang Tikoro, and the former blockage was thrown into Mount Manglayang.
